Kees Joosten with studentsThe Port Authority, represented by Kees Joosten from Corporate Strategy, has defined a number of challenging assignments for the students. In this full-time class 18 MSc students in their last year of study conduct highly practice-oriented field research in close cooperation with the Port itself. Their research encompasses document analysis, database research and interviews with key persons working for the Port of Rotterdam, but also with some of the company's partner firms which are located in the harbor. Their target is to develop solutions for the challenges in small groups, and they will present the results of their work to the Port of Rotterdam in a closing session mid-May.

Kees Joosten does not only see this as a great opportunity for the master students to gain practical corporate experience, but also expects to get valuable new impulses for the company's open innovation efforts, particularly in cooperation with the more than 1,000 companies which have their home in the Port itself.
